These napkins are a favorite for obvious reasons! They are cheery, festive, appreciated and just plain fun to weave!
Level of Difficulty: Intermediate Beginner
- 4-Shaft loom with an 16” weaving width
- 10-dent reed
- 2 shuttles
Finished Size: 13-1/2” x 13-1/2”, including 1/2” folded hems. This pattern will make 4 (8) napkins.

Warp & Weft: 8/2 Cotton, M.Brassard, 8oz, 1680 yd. cones (available here). Color A, background, 1(2) cones - 1580yds (2960 yds); Color B, pinwheels, 1 cone - 400 yds (660 yds). We used Old Blue and Natural
4 Napkins: 3 yds
8 Napkins: 5 yds
This allows for 15% take-up and shrinkage, and 20” loom waste.
Total Ends: 320
Warp - 20 ends per inch, 2/dent in a 10-dent reed
Weft - 22 picks per inch
