These beautiful shuttles are handcrafted by Ken Ledbetter, also known as a master spindle maker. He has made these low profile so they can be used on any loom, including rigid heddle and table looms that tend to have narrow sheds than floor looms.
Each is super smooth, fits the hand perfectly, has a nice thumb indent to ensure proper throwing and is light enough to just sail through the shed with ease. (Can you tell that we LOVE these shuttles?)
Made from figured maple and other natural beautiful woods. Each shuttle is one of a kind, reflecting the piece of wood, it's dimensions and weight. They are all approximately 11" long, 1-5/8" wide and 1" tall and use a 4" bobbin with low flange (Ashford) or quills. Weights of the shuttles range from 3-1/4 to 3-5/8 ounces.
Note that the picture shows a representative selection of these shuttles. If you would like to select a specfic one, please put that in the note section of your order on checkout and we will do our best, though we cannot guarantee that will be available. You may also call us to learn which we currently have.
We believe you will love these as much as we do!
