The 4.3 inch Glimakra Cardboard Quills are made of cardboard and do not have flanges. They can be cut to the right length and can be used in any shuttle. They fit perfectly in the KCL low-profile 4" shuttles. The quill length should be 1/2 to 3/4 inches less than the length place where the bobbin fits in the shuttle. A Swedish Bobbin Winder - Thin style - can be used to wind quills or bobbins, or they can be wound by hand.
